The transition to middle school is on the horizon for 5th grade students. This is the
time when students begin to build on the basics they were taught from
previous years to solidify their educational foundation. At this age, children
can feel both thrilled and overwhelmed by transition; therefore it’s important
for teachers and families to continue to prepare students by challenging them
with projects that require planning and organization. The activities in this
section will help 5th graders sharpen their overall skills and increase awareness
as they prepare to transition to middle school.
